Every year i start with some loose idea of things I want to achieve. Some stick, some don’t and some I forget. But this year my plans are big! Truthfully, I think some of it is stemming from some sort of existential fear about bigger changes coming in the future. That nothing is guaranteed, we have no idea what the future holds, and not to put anything off. The last two years have been filled with the unexpected. Before the pandemic, I could usually find a reason not to do anything - the time wasn’t right, I was too busy at work, it wasn’t practical, it was too far, too long, too short - I had a million reasons. Then the pandemic happened and for a year we couldn’t do anything - couldn’t go anywhere, couldn’t see loved ones, life stopped. While it was stopped things came into perspective: how little time we actually have, to say yes, to do all the things, go all the places, and see all the things.

Shonda Rhimes
This brings me to New Years Eve 2021. I had all these big ideas for 2022 floating around in my head. Wanting to grow Fleece Lined Adventures, trips, family goals. So I put pen to dry erase board and created a vision board of my biggest goals for the year. I’m saying yes and doing all the things. Putting words into action and seeing and doing things I have always dreamed of.
Patagonia
When this trip popped up on my instagram the first time it seemed far fetched but also like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I kept seeing it, and kept thinking this it out of the realm of reality. Then it actually opened up for booking, and my messaged my adventure partner and asked if she would be interested. When she immediately said yes - I knew it was meant to be. We booked it the same day, added on a Glacier Trek, booked flights, and the far fetched idea started to come into reality.
We leave in March for 5 days of hiking and glacier treking. I’m excited and nervous, and I don’t think I’ll actually believe it’s happening until we are there! But this is the first BIG adventure of the year and I’m so stoked for it!
Yellowstone & Glacier National Parks
I am beyond lucky to work for a company that offers a 4 week sabbatical every 5 years. I hit my 5 year back in January and new exactly when and where I was going. For years my mom and I have talked about heading to Yellowstone and Glacier, and this year it’s happening. TBD on if we’re driving or flying - but for about 2.5 weeks we will be exploring both parks. In September we will be heading out west just after Labor Day. My mom and I have traveled together a bunch, this is one we have wanted to do for a very long time and I’m excited to have these memories together.
Golf at Pebble Beach
This one is for Brian, aka DogDad. It’s a major bucket list item for him and I can’t wait to make it happen. I’ve never really explored California, so while Brian is hitting the course, I’ll be meandering and shopping with my girlfriend. More to come on this one, but we’re planning for December!
Buying a House
Apartment living has been great, but I am super ready for a house. I am over being in such a small space, and it being such a product to get Oban outside. I want to give him a backyard more than anything, and have outdoor space to spend evenings outside with friends. The plan is to start looking in spring in the areas surrounding where we currently live. This feels like such a huge life step that we are so ready for!
Growing Fleece Lined Adventures
As our lives and adventures continue to grow, I am working to grow Fleece Lined Adventures into a side hustle. More to come here, but I have lots of ideas.
Hope you follow along on our 2022 journey. I cannot wait to share all the places it takes us!
